I have a compaq PC with a Windows XP Pro COA on the side. The problem is that the case is damaged and it just looks shabby.
I have decided to recase the PC but what do I do about the COA?

Use a hairdryer to warm it up and then try and peel it off. Or you could use a hacksaw to cut the COA out then use a glue gun to stick to the side of the new case
I wouldn't bother with re-sticking the COA, you know you've got a legit copy. Unless you plan to sell it, in which case I'm sure there is some strange wording that the sticker has to follow the device it was origionally stuck on to, so moving the sticker would void it (someone can explain the exact wording better than my memory)
It is Inevitable.....
I think you mean tamper detect lettering? (Leaves some behind or the lettering tears if you try and peel it off)
