    Creative finally release X-Fi drivers for Linux...

    ... but in true Creative style, the build system and support scripts are buggy as hell, and people are having problems getting the binary blob wrapper to compile on their systems. You can get the driver from here:

    Yes, that's kind of odd. But I guess the way they see it is x86_64 is a fairly popular and modern arch for Linux, knock a 'working' driver out to see how it fairs, and get an i386 driver out later.

    The effort to get it to build right is on Gentoo Forums, and #creative @ irc.freenode.net. The build system is really messy, with all kinds of noob mistakes.
