optgroup tags?

Guys, I am trying to code some Drop Downs with null fields that separate the groups so I am using the <optgroup> tags in the form code, problem is the optgroup tag automatically seems to force the italic and the colour to remain the same, is there any way to use the optgroup tags but say set this particular entry to be a different colour or say bold instead of the standard font tages on the drop down that I define? I don't think there is and its buggin me so I need someone else to say no lol

don't see how as the CSS would dictate the Form and not specifically the OptGroup tags.....

in your <HEAD>

<STYLE>
OPTGROUP {font-family: arial;
background-color: FFFFFFF}
</STYLE>

or whatever you want to make it look like
