Windows XP and Norton Ghost

Soooooo

I got my new 60gb IBM Hard Drive today (thanks Overfloe )

Now, Ive installed it with my measly 20Gb Seagate (original HDD) and I want ed to ghost everything onto my new drive

BUT

1. I've never ghosted anything I AM A VIRGIN GHOSTER
2. Does Windows XP o/s actually ghost to another drive or will I have problems ?

And no I don't want to re-install, I honestly can't be arsed - besides god knows where my XP disc has got to..

i know powerquest driveimage will happily do it, so i assume ghost will

I got a piece of shareware from download.com to ghost my Server 2003 install from one drive to another. Worked perfectly, but can't remember what it was called

i use a program call casper xp. cost me about £12 and is worth every single penny. u boot into windows click copy drive and its all done as easy as that.

dont ask me how they manage to copy the drive without being in DOS etc but it has never ever let me down.

Will I be able to use the free trial download version for this ?

you could try getting the free tools from your HD manufacturer - they may have just the tool to do this - and it's normally completely free. I managed to do this with a WD tool, to copy from a WD drive to a Samsung drive.

Ghost works fine with XP altho it does have to be 2002 or 2003 to support NTFS IIRC. All the corp ones supported NTFS but they didnt add it to the "home" one for ages for some weird reason.
