vista 64 - cant open photos

i have just reinstalled windowns vista ultimate 64. my BSOD seems to be cured by i still cant open pictures using the window photo viewer. it displays an error message saying the hard drisk drive may be full or out of memoey (no to both). any ideas?

have you tried checking your HDD for bad sectors? if nothing comes up doing that, just reinstall windows again. i have found that the oddest things happen (or cease to happen) after a fresh install. example: a mate of mine has an IBM laptop and initially under vista, the inbuilt w-lan didn't work. after a few installs it did though and he's not had problems with it since.
