Guys I have a question.
I have HD content on my Home server which has bitrates of about 6MB per sec for the video and .5MB/sec for the audio. Now when I stream it from the server DU Meter tells me im downloading at 1.5MB/per sec. Does that mean I am losing out on a lot of quality if I stream it from the server?

You're confusing bits and bytes, even Blu-Ray doesn't get as high as 6MB/s.
FYI if your LAN speeds weren't fast enough you'd just notice loads of stuttering. WHS is just a networked drive and you're playing the file as though it were local not via a streaming server. It just comes via ethernet as opposed to SATA.
Looks correct. You shouldn't be losing any quality. As Lourdes said bitrate is measured in bits. DU meter is measured in bytes

x264 encodes at ~6mbs aren't really HD. You need to be on the 25mb+ bracket at 1080p for that. But I'm just being a perfectionist!Originally Posted by neonplanet40
