Considering how highly the beta release has been praised, I reckon I'll probably purchase a copy of it for my main desktop after 2 or 3 weeks, see how it runs and if I'm impressed I'll probably make it the OS for my HTPC as well.
I'm a big fan of Vista, so all I'm hoping is that there are enough clear benefits to justify the higher price.
If it wasn't for switching to Mac, I'd get win 7 straight away. So far I'll stick with XP and maybe upgrade to Vista soon, would be used for PC only games.
I love the way Vista works and looking at the screenshots 7 seems even more refined. Wonder if they'll release 5 versions again or just 2 like XP though.
Same versions going off browsing the beta dvd i burned.
i liked the beta, i'll prolly grab it some time soon after release
I have had W7 on my PC at work for a couple of weeks now and having come from Vista I would say it is a great improvement. It feels much more refined and polished, even at beta stage. I will most definitely be getting it soon after it comes out.
I do however have one very large problem in the IE8 will not authenticate through our proxy! Firefox works fine but IE8 continually prompts for my user name and password even though it is correct. Eventually it times out with an incorrect user/password screen.
Normally this wouldn't really bother me as I use Firefox but it means that MSN won't work as it relies on IE's proxy settings.
you reported the bug 99?
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
Not yet, have been so busy at work. Can't even use the Windows 7 feedback tool as guess what? It relies on IE!!!!
Strangely though I can get updates and that really does confuse my small mind.
I'm impressed so far, but my installs haven't really been stressed yet.
Would the final version perhaps have a little more bloatware that may slow it down? I'll probably try one install when it's released, but only a few weeks after you guys have been the Beagles
Of course, thanks.
The next part will be how much it will cost for the various versions?
Probably when it trickles down through my university and I can get a free copy!
