Well the iMacs won't be up and running till summer simply can't remove the current machines whilst students are using them because of the software transfer issues, however the Mac Pro will be up and running this afternoon 'stress testing' in my office
Muhaha, nearly 18ghz of Mac Pro just went online
Doesn't seem to be working it that hard though, running flat out it's only using about 30% of the power available to it...
Found the problem. Need to add -smp 8 on the command line. 8 core grunt is go!
Ah, is that the command switch to get the 8 core running right?
I have just switched on a new Dell PE2950 with dual quad cores but had to go to twin smp clients in order to get the 8 cores working fully.
I'm hoping to add another 4k on my ppd with that servers. I'm guessing you'll be pretty much doubling yours?
Cheers
Ryan
Well that switch didn't work and it appears to be only valid for the newer linux folding program so never mind. The twin smp clients have added about another 4-4.5k worth of points to my ppd average so I guess they are working well. Others using linux on them are hitting over 8k per day. Damm windows OS (and the fact the server has to be used for other things shortly)
