I have CS3, is there a HDR add on available? Failing that, does anyone know of any decent software to apply HDR effects?
Thanks

I seem to remember Photomatix being mentioned a couple of year back. Given the boom in HDR since then, I'd imagine there are more and cheaper solutions out there.
You'd probably be better off asking in the photography section.
For the record, I hate HDR images. I can see why people like them, but to me the end results look ghastly - possibly art, but definitely not photography. When used very subtly to rescue a particularly difficult capture I don't mind it too much though, but I wouldn't be seen dead using it myself.
Thanks, just want subtle effects, I will have a look in photo section.
There are always apps like EasyHDR

A collegue of mine swears by it for creating brilliant skys and reflections easily, he can't work photoshop at all, so it must be simple to use.

I use Photomatix, it has many options to give you HDR images that don't look overprocessed like many HDR photos people put on DA or FlickR for example.
One of mine:
Very nice image! Love the vividness and strength of the blue.
I think the overprocessed look is a matter of taste and style and depends on what the photographer wants to acheive as the end result. Sometimes I head that way, or sometimes I do very subtle HDR.
Photomatix is definately the best in the field of HDR generation though. There's also an open source alternative I believe.
Thanks, I will look into that
