My company has a few 2008 R2 member servers but no DC's. We must complete our virtualisation that's hit lots on bumps on the way before we go beyond the planning stage.
Right now, we cannot move further as we are refusing to move further on the deployment for another site in another country because the financial controller has delayed implementing our licensing recommendations for over a year now. Slowly, however all of his artificial blocks are being removed, we will have our licensing sorted and will be able to start moving on tbhe huge number of projects that are stuck behind this.

Sadly no one I know is using 2008 / R2 in the real world
Meet more people ;)
Used it from release when I was in Operations , though part of it were on TAP so you had to deploy it fast.

I know more companies using NT as a DC then 2008 R2
you are kidding me - last time I even logged onto an NT box was about 6 years ago!

lol.. lucky you! Flat OU structure with no nesting makes its a real pain! I am about 5 users away from migrating a 500 user NT domain with backup DCs all over the place, replication is a pig as well.
Re: MS 70-640 Exam - Stupid Question
I went and did this exam today to see how I would get on, I got 840 so passed by quite a long way.
For anyone else who is going to do this keep in mind that even though its a 2008 R2 exam there are questions on 2000, 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, XP, Vista and 7 in this exam and its not as easy as you would first expect.
I struggled with Certificate Services (never actually used it in production to be honest)

Congrats! I'm studying for this exam currently (been set a challenge of getting it all done within 4 weeks)! Any tips and pointers that could help?
Re: MS 70-640 Exam - Stupid Question
you really need to know you commands as they throw in questions where more than one of the answers would do the job in the question but the question asks for the "least amount of effort" so you have to know all the steps involved in each command so you can work out how to answer the question.
Also, they will really try and trip you up with the 2008R2 vs 2008 / 2003 commands they are always doing it with dfsrmig.exe and ntfrs.exe
Although they don't go as deep as telling you migrating a 2003 to 2008 domain from ntfrs to dfsmig will cause all sorts of problems and in some cases file loss (maybe its in a more advanced test? :D)
By the time I had finished with this one Xen looked like this...

4 Weeks is going to be pushing it unless you are using a 2008 R2 in a multi site setup with certificate services or maybe Federation Services running and you have had about 12 months working with them.
