Couple of questions

If the computer which is crunching isn't always connected to the internet, does it automatically try to update when there is a connection? I am asking this beacuse I might put it on my laptop and leave it on at night when the internet server will be turned off.

How often does the software actually send your stats "back to base"?

i take it you're talking about UD?

it will send the unit back when it's done, i think it might retry every hour (at a guess) if there's no internet connection, double clicking the icon when it's got the yellow ! (exclamation mark) will make it try sending straight away.

you can get a program called UD Mon to cache a number of units so that it can carry on whilst it doesn't have a net connection.

i'd be careful about using the laptop 100% 24/7 as they can get pretty hot
