Reorder the entries in your Style.css file, putting the 'a:hover' line at the end.

(In commenting out your 'a:hover' line, I put mine after the 'a:visited' line and this made it work, even though I had entered it identically, leading me to believe it was a hidden illegal char.)
nope that doesnt work, when ive done that it makes the non visited links the default colour/font etc.

Okay you've lost me now... isn't that exactly what you wanted?

Visited or non-visited links appear black, bold and not underlined?
Hover over a link and it highlights it green?
(Originally you had hovered links underlined, but no longer.)

As far as I can tell the CSS file is now doing exactly what it's supposed to...
~ I have CDO. It's like OCD except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. ~
