How to convert PAL to NTSC

I have a PAL dvd that I want to convert to NTSC. How would I go about doing so and what software should I use?

you need to adjust the framerate from 25 to 30. very little software can do this effectively (i.e. by resampling, rather than just changing the time between frames, which desynchs audio very quickly) - recent versions of virtualdub can, but that's only for avi files.

the resolution also needs slight alteration, biut not much.

Once you have it as an AVI file try using TMPGEnc (do a google and download the trial) with it you can convert it to PAL and if the audio is out you can easily ajust it back to what it should be using a slider. With it you can also specify the file to be DVD 4.7GB size so it will fit on a dvd.

Im not sure how to get it from dvd to AVI tho, but there are progams out there.

Google somehting like DVD to AVI and there will be loads of guides that come up.
