I think they get converted to .WAV with nero if the CD is set up as an Audio CD. Unless you tell it otheriwse. So .WAV may be the standard used. Some one will probably clear this up if im wrong

With version 6. Start nero and go to File > New. This should bring up a new window that has a scroll bar on the left. Scroll untill you see Audio CD (2nd one down on mine) and then click on New. Then just drag the files you want like you normally would.
umm err i dont have nero burning software, any links?

1) no, it's not WAV. CD Audio doesn't have a file system at all, it's burnt as CD audio, plain and simple. you need to use a burning application which can create this raw data.
2) try www.burnatonce.com for a free windows cd burning program
thanks directhex, this app is simple and easy to use... you're the man!

http://www.icdia.org/cdprosupport/vc.../vcd_specs.htm
they need to be MPEG1 with very specific resolutions && bitrates. nero can convert them and produce the correct directory/filesystem structure
