Blue Scrssn Of Deeath's To Death

    Hi,

I'm currently upgrading my computer and whenever I put Windows on the computer I keep getting BSOD's randomly. I get loads of different causes, bad_spooler_call, CDFS_something etc.. There have been about 8-9 different error messages.

I've got all the latest drivers and only installed my MOBO drives and a netgear wireless card drivers with Doom3 and it still happened.

I've put fresh installs of XP Home, Professional, Media, Co-operate and 2K3 and I get the same problem with all of them, which makes me think its hardware. I was thinking I may try 2k and see what happens then (never let me down yet). You can see my spec in my signature.

The only old pieces of kit I've got are my Geforece 4600 TI and a 300/350W PSU. I've got 4 HD's, FX55, GFX, 2 CD/DVD Drives, 2GB RAM. Was thinking it may be the PSU, but if so how can it create a BSOD shouldn't the PC just freeze or restart ??

Could someone pleae help me out, getting really annoyed by it now.

Try running it with minimal components plugged in. Perhaps run memtest on the RAM - doesnt sound much like a RAM issue though

Is it a generic or branded PSU?

I'd try and run the system with just 1 HDD and 1 optical drive and see if that falls over. From the list of parts you have on the list, 300-350w is not really ideal for the amount of devices you have installed as well as with that CPU.

it's a generic cheap PSU that came with an old case, i brought a tagan (which died) and I'm waiting for the Ultra X Connect PSU to be released, whenever that might be ?

Have RAID 0 for my windows partion, so have to run 2 HD's miniumum, tried running the beast with 2 HD's and 1 CD drive and it still happened.

What I want to know is can a PSU cause a BSOD, and if so how ?
