    Winamp and domains

I have used winamp since i can remeber, but i can for the life of me geting to work when i log into my domain, it works fine if i log on localy, but if im loged into the domain it freazes as soon as start playing a track, then windows does an error report and shuts it down

    - what going on, how can i sort it out?

    - or do i need to scrap winamp for another program !!

    turn off usage stats.

I suspect its some sort of resolution problem looking up winamp hosts when using domain based resolution.

Although this should not be a problem really

well, i did that, but it didnt help, i also tryed a lot of other things, which also didnt help :0

    - its jsut a soon at a start playing anythink it freazes, carrys on playing t the end of the track, meanwhile windows (XP) fires up "winamp had encountered a problem and need to close, We are sorry for the inconvenience" - then eather "send error report" or "dont send" - and as so as you click eather of them in shuts winamp down.

what version of winamp and what service pack / patch status of windows.

I'm not a windows user really so I'm not best placed to help on this, but I can try.

The fact that it is moaning about a genuine error (the windows popup box).

Have you tried un-install and re-install of winamp ? making sure the libraries and the binaries installed correctly on the base system of windows your using?

don't just re-install winamp, remove it totally, re-download and re-install. Just as a suggestion.

I'm hoping one of the windows guru's will step in here

I tryed re installing winamp (totoly removing first) again, still now joy

    - then to today i srubed windows, and this time i tryed winamp lite, which work!!

    - so later i will try with winamp full, to see what the problem was (and becase i dont like winamp lite, becuase i can get a winamp3 style skin for it)
