yeah, looks like nice DRM'd files. you're not allowed to play the tracks in other players, by order of microsoft & the record industry.

i disagree ashleybaker , winamp is plain and simple but allows u to mess around with it

all its options seem pretty self explanatory and it uses alot less resources than wmp
dont get me wrong wmp 10 is what i use most for films etc but for music its definetly winamp

it isnt the most popular for nothing

winamp's not the most popular, what most people use is the most popular, and that's whatever came preinstalled (media player)

You could always try ripping the tracks with something like CDex, that *might* (but I doubt it if it's DRM) bypass the DRM and allow you to play it in Winamp.

I installed WA, and must say its not that bad once you get used to it. Though i just have teh 'classic' mode. I searched for a minimlistic (sp?) look, but they all looked like you would spend too much time looking for the buttons.

FooBar, crappy GUI, so what, do what it's supposed to, no big fuss. Or Winamp for the nice GUI.

i know fine well media player is the most used only because the uninformed probably dont know any better and if it plays there music then theyre happy

for those who are more into there music will prefer something with more functionality

if media player wasnt pre installed i doubt many would pick it over winamp

besides microsoft have been ordered to stop bundling it with windows have they not ?

whats that mean it wont come with it atall ?
why would this need to be done is it so other companys like real media and the likes of winamp can get a fair crack at the whip ?

apparently from what i remember they wont be allowed to call it a reduced media edition because it sounds like a low end and cut down version so they can still sell the full xp ?

i think there going to have to remove it from xp altogether

i dunno my head hurts and i have a hangover
