Exchange mailbox - auto reply to every mail

I can't remember how you get a particular email account to reply with a default message to every new incoming mail, I know you can set a rule on the client to do so but that would require the client to be always running. I need the auto reply to work from the exchange side so its always enforced, any ideas?

be VERY carefull with auto responses. Its a recepie for a mail storm if someone else has an auto responder.

the out of office rule is intellegent enough to only respond once to each sender.
its also an exchange side rule , so once set would not require the client to be running.

Basically you set the mailbox you wish to set up the rules on as your default mailbox, create a new Exhange profile if it's not, and then log into exchange as it. Goto tools mailbox rules. Create a new rule and leave the subject, message body and from fields blank so as then it will respond to every single message that is recived. Then set it to reply with a template. Create your email template and save it. It will prompt you to ask if your sure. Confirm this and you have now got the auto responder on and can log off as it will be stored on the EX server.
