Microsoft Edge keeps accessing my HDD in my PC...

I have to use Microsoft Edge for work purposes. However, every time I open a new tab or switch between tabs I can hear it accessing my HDD. I have no idea why, and it's really getting annoying (and seems to make it slow).

My PC has a main Samsung SSD 980 PRO as the C: drive (boot), a D: drive (SSD), and then a 3rd F: drive (HDD) that I mostly use for storage. C and D have plenty of space, so I've no idea why my HDD is constantly being accessed.

Process monitor: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sy...nloads/procmon can log which files a process accesses.

    system virtual memory paging files?
settings > system > advanced > performance (advanced)

or its decided to do some disk indexing while it thinks you're not using the drive.

The only spinning disk I now have is a Seagate 8TB external drive. I have it plugged into a hub so I turn it off. For some reason Windows seems to want to write to that drive and completely ignore the NVMe drives. So now I leave it off until its needed. And I dont have to wait while it decides to spin up and do something everytime I don't use the computer for 10 minutes

Ooh bingo! It was set to the HDD! Rather than an SSD drive! Thank you
