    Microsoft Outlook Problem

    Hi there!

I'm desperate for some help with Microsoft Outlook (not express). Well, Outlook 2000 and later won't accept a smtp port number larger than the 4 default digits... I know there is a way doing it by modifying a key in the registry. But I couldn't find anything using Google up to now :/ Anyone knows how to hack the windows registry to allow a port like 10025 to be used as SMTP port in Outlook?

    All inputs welcomed Cheers

why such a high number? It will happily go up the addressed range - i.e. standard replacement smtp port numbers are 2525, 1025, etc. i've seen a couple of mentions of this regarding zoe particularly

Aye. I'm going to try appending but I doubt it'll work - I can't leave the SMTP port field empty, can I?

Some search led me to notice that Microsoft seems to have forgotten this feature in outlook 2000 and 2002. In 97 and 2003 the SMTP port can be changed flawlessly.

Thanks for the input. I'll move to 2003 if the needs be

    cheers
