    NForce 2 Drivers...

Does anyone know if NVidia have fixed the problem with the IDE drivers within their NForce driver set? I am on version 2.00 of the drivers and I had to tell it to not install the Nforce IDE driver because it would take ages to boot etc, use the windows driver and it's perfect.

I know this was a relatively widespread problem with the drivers, I havn't attempted to update them due to everything working perfectly at the moment, just wondering if I could update and use NVidias IDE driver because I would feel better about it all then.

No news on any new drivers yet, although i know they are in development.
I know a lot of people have problems with them, and some dont, its really strange. Im using the Nvidia SW driver and flying along, and have done on every windows installation without one problem.
Id just stick with the MS one as its failrly failsafe

With the amount of time its has taken them so far and a set of failed driver releases (2.41/2's) id say they want to make 100% sure they get it right this time.
Ive also got some screenshots of the new media centre somwhere, and it looks nice

Ah they are doing a new media centre? Nice...

I only have one problem with it at the moment, i've just got some nice Videologic 5.1's and I have them hooked up using a 3.5mm jack > 2xphono plugs from the lineout of the onboard sound. The problem is that I think the center speaker in the setup does the decoding etc and it can split the signal between all of the speakers etc but I am worried that the media centre is also trying to do this before the signal gets to the separate decoder?

I would like to hook my pc upto the speakers using an optical out socket but I don't have an optical out on this board (Epox 8RDA+) and I am suddenly realising that I should post a separate thread about this <rolleyes>, also I have to tick all of the checkboxes on the speaker setup page for the media centre software to show all of the speakers are working, i don;t know what half of the boxes are!

ouch, thats nasty, £10 more.. geez

Ill have a look about for you and see if i can find anywhere more reasonably priced.
I have no idea about the optical cable, i would asume it doesnt come with one unless it says otherwise.

Ok thanks, i'm looking too, keep getting redirected to that damned site! it does say..

    "Packing:
    ¡¤ Optical cable x 1
    ¡¤ 2 x 3 pin cable x 1"

however so i am guessing that means it has an optical cable and a cable to hook the card to the mobo aswell...
