Decent Windows Firewall

Hi,

We're running 2003 server at work, and I need a decent (configurable) firewall. Basically all I want to do is set up up to say:

- Allow all internal traffic in and out
- Allow all traffic in and out from these ip addresses (our home IPs)
- Allow all outbound traffic
- Deny everything else inbound

I tried Sygate Personal Firewall but it causes a lot of BSOD's - are there any other free solutions?

Outpost bu Agnitium - I think there is a free version , but I'm not sure if you can have the rules for the home IP's in the free version :S

Is the server a file server or domain controller?
Does it have SP1 installed?

It's got SP1. It's a mail server, but the only windows server in the office, so is AD domain primary whatever.

EDIT: The firewall that comes with SP1 is not really configurable enough for our needs...

Tried tiny personal firewall? used to be great, as long as you could find an old version of it.

i run server2003 and sygate and i have no BSOD's wtf!.strangeness. what version do you have? as i have 5 so it might be a problem in 6. i have not yet upgraded to 6 so i do not know about bugs etc.as 5 does what i need it to...

fair enough. all i can say is 5 is nice sometimes the latest and greatest aint what their cracked up to be... back to the old skool
