Official Microsoft XP themes

More of a personal curiosity then anything.

Microsoft designed XP to only allow "official" XP themes to be installed along side the blue/olive/silver defaults. I've seen in tablet eddition a light blue theme, and in some of the ealier long horn beta's a black theme. Did microsoft actually release any additional themes for XP ?

the tablet theme was for tablet XP edition only, but if you have a tablet you can copy the theme from it, it is slightly nicer than standard blue imo.

Also the MCE theme too.

you can get the Media Center style theme, it's called "Royale". Google will help you, I'm sure.

Royale is available for all from the MS New Zealand site if you have authentication on.

There are a few other themes (a FFXI one IIRC?!?), some in the Plus! pack...but nothing very exciting.

Or if you slipstream your install with nlite you can make it use unofficial ones. But as far as i know the only ones they released where in plus, and look like crap anyway, as does the sweety themed one it comes with.

thanks guys, I'm not looking for alternates I'm just curious as to as microsoft has made XP "MS Themes only" did they actually make any available.

there are no themes in plus - as such. The themes in plus just use the existing themes but with new icons/desktop the actual silver/olive/blue themse are used in the plus themes.

as I said, I've seen the black/marron on in the earlier longhorn beta's but I find it unusual that MS would have made XP, MS Themes only then not actually made the themes available
