Anyone know how I can compare directories / files?

I've just copied about 260folders to another drive, and need to be able to check which files are missing. When I go to properties there are about 20 files that haven't been copied over - is there a tool out there that will compare the 2 drives and tell me what's missing?

    Thanks

    Josh

dir/s>dans.txt would give you a detailed summary, however dont go into individual folders just the root ie

    c:\dans

    dir/s>dans.txt

would give details of all the files in c:\dans\folders\

if you know what I mean, then open the two txt files in excel and compare.

    Guys,

Have you never heard of Win Diff?????.
If you haven't you've not lived.... heh.... its most useful for doing things like source code checking. There are several version out, including a MS version see link below...

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...smpwindiff.asp

    http://www.shiojiri.ne.jp/~tukahara/windiffp/
But i don't like MS's version so i use Win Diff Plus see link above.

Will make you life so much easier ...

    Directory Compare: http://tp.lc.ehu.es/jma/win95.html
For a direct link to the 32-bit version: http://tp.lc.ehu.es/anonym/win95/drcmp253.exe

Chances are, you aren't really missing any files. It has something to do with the way Explorer counts files, a bug in there somewhere. I also had this problem in the past, nearly went insane trying to find the "missing" files.
