    firefox download problems

whenever i try to download / save a file through firefox i get the following error, and firefox then closes.

The instruction as "0x004ee3f2" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program
this also happens when i try to save a page in firefox. im having to go back to IE if i want to save anything, and untabbed browsing is painful. anyone else have this problem or know what might be causing it? I cant find where the bookmarks are kept so i can do a proper reinstall of it.

    thanks!

If you go to Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> File -> export you can back them up like that.

EDIT: Forgot to post original location - it is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxx.default\bookmarks.html
