    XP start-up Errors.

    As the title says.
Happens every time, which is WELL annoying.

Incidentally I did a search on my dads computer, which yielded a lack of 'missing' file. Wierd.

I assume it has something to do with the fact I killed off 500+ virus infected files a couple of months ago using AVG.

edit FYI: Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp2.030422-1633)

    Cheers for any help.

Oh wait, is there any way to actually add an attachment?? Other than IMG code?? Doh!

Okay, can I mail you the pic of the error messages? As I can't see an attachment button. I don't have any hosting facilities...

Looks like you had a virus at some point, which has since been removed.
Grab a copy of startupCPL, find where its being called from, and delete the entry

Another really good startup utility is... er.... WinStartup (I think its called - http://atomnet.co.uk/?p=programs&search=startup )

It sounds like some rogue program trying to run at startup, so removing it from the startup should fix it.

And check your services as it could be something in there.

Okay, sorry it's taken me so long to get back to everyone.

Using a combonation of the ideas presented here, all problems are solved.

    Thank you all.
