spam assisn is great but wont run on a windows platform - however it does work nicely with a linux based mail server.

The problems is tryign to filter the mails at an ISP level. You have to persuade your ISP to forward your mail to another address which can be run by the filtered service, or you have to relay your mail via another anti spam filtering service such as messagelabs.

If azrael is getting so much spam that its killing his web connectino , then ISP level filtering is the only option. - if he can still download the mail buyt wants to delete it on receipt then a client side antispam solutino like k9 is fine.

Spam assasin just tags each mail as spam, so you can have a filter to move it to a junk queue. however when you get false positives , this can cause problems.

Spamassassin will work on windows - I'm running it now: look for SAproxy. K9 beats it though.
