    Coppermine photo gallery

Im with PlusNet (no comments about them please, i already know they arent very good ) and have webspace with them and want to create an online photo gallery using coppermine.

There is a walkthrough from plusnet about how to set it up on their servers but im stuck..the tutorial is here

    http://usertools.plus.net/tutorials/id/52

My first problem is that it says to download a version in gzip, but i cant see it listed so i just downloaded normal zip file, unzipped to my desktop and then uploaded the folder to the server, skipping out all the "unzipping etc.." from the tutorial. Is this ok to do though? Will it still work?

    Cheers,
    Chris.

should be okay, although you might want to just check that the file permissions are correct.

Stoo is correct - having the files on a Windows system is a sure-fire way to break any file permissions which would have been in the .tar.gz (though there no longer seems to be a .tar.gz release - you can use "unzip zipefilename.zip" on linux though.
