    Editing PDFs

I just downloaded Adobe Acrobat Professional 8, in hope that I can edit some PDFs I've been sent to ammend.

I've opened one of the PDFs up, and for the life of me, cannot figure out how the hell I edit anything. Am I doing something wrong? I found a god awful program called Foxit PDF Editor which does the trick, but the interface is shoddy and will take forever matching up colours etc.

Help! Surely Acrobat Pro does the job?

I was going to suggest Foxit reader, but you have already found that.

Acrobat Pro will do the job, but what is it your attempting to do? And do you have the source files (ie those that were processed to create the PDF?)

No, see unfortunately I don't have the source files. Only the PDF outputs. I need to add some extra text, change some font sizes and the like. Currently our business out sources the work, whether they'll give us the source or not we'll see, just seeing if there was a way to do it from the ouput.

It is probably possible, but it will be a lot more work than editing the originals, so getting hold of the originals would probably be your best bet

    adobe illustrator can edit pdfs.

does a good job too alot of people use it to make them i think.

I had a client who used to send me pdf files he had made in illustrator and they were completely editable.

I use it at work too but i would say illustrator as the edge as it keeps the layers more, has editable text etc.

also as I said I think alot of pdfs are made in illustrator.

oh for sure, but if all you want is a logo embeded in some corporate literature, PS is great. I'd be surprised is Paint Shop Pro couldn't do the same thing.
