Annoying IE Thing

Why when I type an address in the address bar in IE and press enter it sits thee for about 3-4 seconds not doing anything before I get the navigation click and it starts to load the site? This is fixed with a restart but it happens a while later..

You could try reinstalling IE, or try using a programme like MYIE2 or Crazybrowser. They both use IE but make it 100 times better.

i know you were saying you'd rather not change browser but wanted to recommend mozilla firebird to you installed 0.7 myself and it's absoultley stunning and considering it's pre 1.0 it's so stable it's not even funny, tabbed browsing, lightning fast page rendering, only a 7mb download, lean mean browsing machine to quote numerous sites, been ruuning it for two months usually with 8-9 pages open simultanesly with quicktime, java and flash pages all at once it's never crashed on me once, much more like i.e in use and functionality then the big mozilla composer which i found slow and anoying and so switched back to i.e then found firebird can't recommend it enough.

Closing IE
Goto Control Panel, Internet Options,
Reduce the size of your IE cache,(down to 50meg)
Reduce the number of days recorded in your History(7days)
Run ipconfig/flushdns if youre on 2k/xp
