    Internet Security Suite: 1-3 Users

I've got two computers loaded with an Internet Security Suite. One is due to expire in Feb; the other in June. If I buy a new Suite for "1-3 users", how does it work? Are three product keys printed on the back or is it just one key allowing up to 3 computers? If it's the latter, then I'm going to lose 4 months with the overlap, i.e. probably not worth it .

Perhaps just use something which is free for 4 months, and then switch them all over together?

Yeah, that's an idea. It's just I tend to do a clean install of windows whenever I change security suites (to avoid conflicts, left over files etc.). Considering the time it takes, I think I'd sooner pay the extra.

So I gather from that response that up to three computers do share the same key, i.e. once first activated, the time starts ticking...

    It depends

McAfee's stuff doesn't require a key/serial anything - you install, you enter your email, and it's registered. The time starts ticking from when you install/register. Installing it on another machine, registering using a different email, and the time starts ticking from then.

I know Norton, Panda etc.. all keys/serials, so I'm not sure how they work, but McAfee seem to know how to make things nice and simple - PC World often do them half price at £25 for the internet suite as well

Re-installing it doesn't reset the timer etc... I had a problem once where it was cheaper to buy a new boxed product from PCWorld than renew (!!!), but, thankfully there are instructions on the internet on how to remove the registration data and sort that out.

I can also say McAfee's stuff is great. I don't mind paying for it (cheers PCWorld ) and it works fine for AV & firewall (though Spamkiller hates my 1gb Outlook PST's...)

Nooo - don't go for McAfee - I've got a 3 year subscription to it, and it was uninstalled instantly. (Dell paid for it, so I'm not bothered).

NOD32 + Windows Firewall + NAT Router will give you all the protection you need without hogging system resources...
