Can I install Vista on a 30Gb Partition?

Looking at the minimum spec for Vista I see that it needs a 40Gb hard drive with 15Gb free space. I would like to install Vista on a 30Gb partition, along with basic apps. All data will be stored on the other partition on my 150Gb Raptor.

So can I install Vista on a 30Gb partition on a 150Gb drive?

Yes. 30gig should be no problem. But I wouldn't go much less than that so that there is sufficient room for program installs etc.

The windows minimum requirements says 40 gig - so why not use 40 gig ?

As people have said I'm sure it will work on 30 gig, but I can also see future posts of

"I keep getting a warning message of disk space checker saying partition too small"

    Thats sort of thing.

I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying keep in mind, you've chosen to go bellow windows requirments, keep that in mind if you post future bugs/issues.
    It is Inevitable.....

Managed to fit RC2 onto a 10GB partition, but that soon gets squeezed when you install any apps - 30GB should be fine if you don't have too many apps to install.
