Running SATA II SSD on an Asus P5K Premium

I have an Asus P5K Premium board and Q6600 CPU and would like to add a SSD to my setup. AFAIK my board doesn't support SATA II so would I notice a performance hit by installing a OCZ Vertex 2E SSD drive, currently my preferred choice? Would I be best to consider something such as the RevoDrive SSD (PCI Express) or buy a seperate PCI card with 6Gbps support to get the best from a SSD. If I chose the latter would I be better to go for a Crucial RealSSD rather than the Vertex 2E.

Very confused so would appreciate your thoughts. My budget is <£300 but a 120Gb drive is plenty for my needs.

i think SATA on your mobo is revision 2, therefore throughput of sata2 is about 300MB/s so as ocz vertex 2e read/write is about 280MB/s you will be fine.

That's great news. How can I confirm this - what should I find out? CPU-Z tells my my board is Rev 1.xx (Rev A2)
