    replacement drive faulty

    Background first:
My main PC has 1 120GB SSD, 1 200GB Seagate and a 320 GB Maxtor (for backup, used to be a WD my passport)

Other PC, 1tb main drive, no backup (Maxtor was for this one but the WD failed)

As you may of guessed the drive that failed is a WD my passport essential 320gb. It failed my monthly surface scan.
I sent it to WD for a RMA and they sent back a 500GB one (odd eigh?) As it turns out that one is also faulty >

What rights do I have for returning the RMA product? Do I have to pay postage again?

    Re: replacement drive faulty

I had problems with Corsair RMA'd memory a couple of years ago, no problem with replacing it (took 4 goes), but yes you will have to pay for postage back.

Do HDDScan > Surface Tests > Verify and you will be able to see it in a nice graph.

Or you can try (worked for me twice) do a low-level format, secure erase the whole disk and redo the test again.
