    My 840 250gb has been running pretty well. I've done close to 1.5TB of writes and it's still going strong (the Sammy magician benchmark says it's read/write are better than what's on the box ;D.
    The only bad thing is the slower write speed which is 'fixed' on the EVO version.
    I hear the Kingston hyperx is also very good...

    Sweet. I've an 830 just sitting there (256GB) but this fills me with confidence.

    i find that changing my mobo's sata controller driver makes huge differences to my 840 pro's read and write speeds. i can run the test twice in a row and get really different results each time as well. mine does get faster speeds than quoted as well sometimes too..
