Hey Thecus peeps
My N1050 used to work fine on my old iBook, but I've recently upgraded to the latest MacBook and now it won't recognise the N1050?
I've looked in the OS X equivalent of device manager, and it can "see" a USB 2 Mass Storage device, but it refuses to mount the drive..
Any ideas?

It could be that the drive is not getting enough power, have you tried with and without mains power and chaging the poer settings to performance.
tried that, used both the battery pack and ac to power it, no dice..
odd though seeing as it worked fine off just the usb port on the iBook..
Anyone else know of incompatibilities?

Is the drive spinning up?
I suspect it is, as the bridging chips in these kind of things don't tend to communicate with the host until the drive is alive and well (although I cannot guarantee that this is the case with the N1050, hence the question).
Got any other computers you can try it on?

Yup, the drive spins up, if it doesn't have enough power it just kinda clicks..
I've tried it on my two PC's (one windows, one ubuntu) and it's fine, it used to work on the old iBook, but seeing as that's now dead I can't really do much else with it..

Lots of other apple owners are complaining about this one too - the n1050 just will not function on any new mac, any clues Thecus?

Ta, I found an alternative fix, and then I made it all irrelevant by putting Leopard on it tonight
