Exclamation N5200 Pro Firmware v. 2.00.14 upgrade failure

    Hi guys,
A week and a half ago I've attempted to upgrade the firmware from 2.00.12 to 2.00.14, but unfortunately the upgrade failed at about 10%.

I've tried to re-update, but it fails every time, even after a fresh download and a new try. Upgrading again but than to 2.00.12 also fails, but at about 6%.

I've managed to get my files out through activating AFP (I have one Mac) and downloading everything through my Mac to the 3 PC's I have, as I couldn't activate SAMBA, and I couldn't enter with WinSCP etc.

I've left a trouble request at support at first failure and provided updates, but no response from there.

I have not dared to reboot the NAS. Any suggestions from this forum would be nice, as at this point my NAS is in an inconsistent state; I wouldn't even know how to completely reset it (and lose all data) if I wanted to.
    So two questions really:
    1) How can I get a succesfult firmware install (and retain the data)
    2) How can I revive the NAS function (even if i lose all my data initially)

Thnaks in advance for your help, Stangg

Re: N5200 Pro Firmware v. 2.00.14 upgrade failure

Thanks for your reply. This is the request that I posted. I'm not allowed to submit the URL to you, so I have removed the http etc:
    support.thecus.eu/HD/gotoErrand.htm?ErrandKey=20081025:01&KeyNameID=WINCANHD

I can see all my follow-up mails to it re stored against it as well, but no response.

I've tried to attach the conf.bin file, but not sure how to do this in this human interface.

    With kind regards, Stangg

Ok, I understand. I have uploaded the file to rapidshare in an encrypted winrar file. I'm still not allowed to have a URL in this message so here we go again without the http.

    rapidshare.com/files/160953345/Stangg.Conf.Bin.rar.html

The password to the archive is helpmeplease

    Hope this works for you!

    With kind regards,

Cool Re: N5200 Pro Firmware v. 2.00.14 upgrade failure

And now for the URL enablement, my 5th post.

After a failed upgrade I always attempt to do a firmware upgrade to 2.00.12 again, and than I re-enable AFP, NFS,mediaserver etc. I can enable SAMBA and FTP, but it requires a reboot, and that I haven't dared.

Hope this all brings me somewhere healthy

    With kind regards,

    Stangg
