Re: N7700 "2010" Wish List
i'm still waiting for "download manager 3" personally. download manager 2 is of very little use to me to download anything.
some of it works okay but the torrent client is so basic as to be totally unusable.
there's a plugin of the azureus client that works pretty well, but it has limited plugin configurability also. if thecus could spend just a little bit of time integrating a new build of azureus with plugin support that would be the best thing ever and i could pretty much leave my pc turned off a lot of the time. :)
also, how about a mobile web interface to go with the current one so we can manage our NAS's on the move?
another stellar idea would be for a web proxy add-on to allow us to use the thecus to act as a full proxy server for web traffic on computer on (and off) the LAN.
also, what about full openvpn support? from what i've read, it's already built into nsync to some extent, so why not extend it to the user side of things?
also, better logging abilities wouldn't go amiss. something to log webdisk & ftp file transfers and record bandwidth stats and that kind of thing so you can keep a better eye on usage on an ongoing basis.
everything is doable graphically too with ajax but the thecus gui seems very basic compared to the competition like qnap or synology etc. who also use ajax.
