    (Legacy vs Thecus) For backup

In the NSYNC menu, after you put in your username, password, folder name and IP address.. it asks you which type of server... THECUS NAS or LEGACY SERVER ???

The past year I have been using Thecus NAS option and it has worked out... but now my folders have grown to large sizes, #s of files, etc.... Thus, each time the nsync task goes.. it crashes in the middle or near end.

someone on the forum, told me to try LEGACY server option,, and behold... the task completed, all the way through, perfectly.

whats going on here... should no one use Thecus NAS option in NSYNC??
whats the difference between the two.. anything negative about using the Legacy Server option

    Dear Sir,

The LEGACY FTP means FTP server, following NSYNC quick guide page about NSYNC to FTP SERVER for your reference:

should everyone just check LEGACY FTP server instead of Thecus?

because if I check THECUS, there are a lot of problems.. folder issues, time outs, etc ..

The legacy FTP option is working perfect

Is there anything Negative about using one or the other?

Re: (Legacy vs Thecus) For backup

    Dear Sir,

We choose the Theucs NAS or LEGACY FTP, the differnce of Thecus NAS is a shcedule FTP backup with VPN encryption, and the LEGACY FTP without the VPN, thus we could choose THECUS NAS while NSYNC for security concern, or choose LEGACY FTP for higher performance but less security.

The LEGACY FTP doesn't must need the Thecus NAS, we could choose a FTP SERVER to instead, but we have to make a folder called "nsync" in lowercase, and assign a writable permission / user account on FTP server.
