n3200Pro Printserver - Vista: No Network Printer found

Hi everybody,

Cant make that n3200 pro printserver work under Vista.

- connected Canon Printer Pixma5000 to my new N3200Pro
- shows up "active" in Thecus Webadmin panel
- could install it under XP on one machine - and it prints ok!

- BUT: Vista Ultimate on the other pc doesn't find that Printer :-((

I used the method described in the manual, entered the url "192.168.2.254:631/printers/usb-printer" exactly as it works under XP - but it says: "Printer connection cannot be established..."
Seems a widespread vista problem, because i found some threads suggesting installing network printer as "local port", but that didn't work either.
Deactivated Firewall, forwarded Port 631 on router and so on.... No success :-(

Man, trying to set up this NAS like you suppose it should be working right out of the box cost me another weekends precious family time...

Any ideas?

May be You should blame Vista for that.

Try to configure the firewall for file and printer sharing.
Have You set the workgroup to the same on the Thecus and on all Your PC's ?
