So am i correct saying my motherboard cannot support ddr2 and if it cant should i get a new motherboard supporting ddr2, but spending the money on an new one just for ddr2 and using a amd singal core cpu, is it worth it????? plz help

It's a Socket 939 which means you'll be running DDR.
The RAM specs themselves aren't great, but they're not badly priced so you may as well go for that, if you've only got 512MB at the moment and think that 1GB will be enough.

You won't be able to upgrade to DDR2 at all.

Doing so would mean replacing the motherboard and CPU, and there would be minimal, if any, performance advantages for a similar spec'd rig to yours. Definitely not cost effective
