PSU for the Asus 8800 GTX

I brought this yesterday and read on the box that you need a min of 450W PSU bit I've read on other forums that 600W+ is bare minimum.

I have an Antec Neo 550W, will this run it stable?

    Other bits

    Intel 6400
    Abit AWD9 Max
    Dominator 6400 Ram 2GB
    150GB WD Raptor
    250GB Seagate SATA
    X-FI Fatal1ty Xtream
    Antec 900 (V1.0) + extra 120mm fan

    None have been overclocked....................yet!

    Thanks for your help.

There is a popular misconception that you need a PSU big enough to run a town for the next generation cards. This simply isn't true.

Your Antec is plenty as long as you are not going to go SLI (it may even be enough for SLI that but its a close call).

As long as the PSU you have has AT LEAST a combined 12V Amperage of 32A (which i know it has) you will be good to go.
Remember...amperage delivered is more important than overall wattage. The wattages PSUs state, 9/10 times is the peak and not the constant.

    Hope that helps.
