Hello good people of Komplett :)
Not sure if PAT from Kompett is still around in this forum. However, I
bought in the July Gainward 6800GT golden sample card (that was the
first batch avaliable in the UK from komplett.co.uk). I was away for
about month and half ... so I'm back now and ready to tackle this
problem finally.
I already sent my support request to service@komplett.co.uk and my
tracking number is #618232.
To cut the long story short (you have all the details in the tracking number),
I received the card which is unable to work in the advertised GoldenSample
speeds 400 CPU/1100 MEM (enhanced mode). There are artifacts on the
screen (especially 3DMARK03 RagTroll test) when running in the enhanced
speed mode. Also, card is the reference (green) design not branded as
Gainward ... first stock that was avaliable in Komplett. When I was thinking
about the RMA in July komplett stock levels advised that they will be
avaliable by the beginning of the September (new stock). I can see now
that current stock is indeed proper "Gainward" ... red ones with dual fan cooling solution.

So ... because my PC is essential for my work ... I can't afford the situation
to send you the card and be unable to work while waiting for the replacement card.
Could the Komplett be so kind and helpful to send me the replacement
card *before* I send mine back ? Maybe I can guarantee with the my
credit card (you can have the pre-authorisation) before I send you the faulty
card back ... or there is some other solution you may suggest? I would really
like to avoid the possibility to purchase the card again for £322 and wait for
the refund after the RMA process. Not sure how long the current stock
will last, but would like to exchange the card while you have them in the
stock anyway.
If Komplett can help me somehow with this matter, I would be mostly
grateful and that would be another big plus for your already excellent
service (as I'm recommending you to my friends for their PC needs).
Take care.
