Good to see project revival. Nice tidy job there, always enjoy seeing someone else do what I lack the time/patience/skills for, will be interested in the follow-up.

Cutting on the bed, classic, thanks.

I look forward to the next instalment - love the front of the case with the fibreglass shaping and carbon fibre finish!

Re: Arc Mini worklog - Project The Arc updated 22/10/14 (finally with progress pictur

Thanks the shaping was fairly easy as i've done it a fair few times now and fiberglass is pretty easy to shape i find.

Although a small update it will make more sense when i have finished...

It is actually going to be black and white and on a panel, along with N7 logo and stripe (although the stripe is not 100% confirmed to be going on this mod as of yet!)

Now i just need to find someone who can CNC me something.....anyone have any suggestions? uk based ideally.

Thanks! i shall make sure i get the next update uploaded tomorrow afternoon/evening time just need to finish some cable....stuff

Re: Arc Mini worklog - Project The Arc updated 22/10/14 (finally with progress pictur

So finally i come with a half decent update! I'm not going to bore you with the pictures of the ME3 print outs as they are purely for prototype stuff on this case, plus! i NEED to find someone who can either CNC some metal for me or someone who has a 3d printer XD pretty tuff to come by for some reason!

Anyway on with the update, some who have followed from the start would have seen the cable tidy before, the new stuff is actually ever so slightly different but you would never know

So the old next to the new,

The fan is the first on my hitlist! i actually took these apart before hand aswell as they were horrible looking! so to start,
This is a MUST if you are doing this to prevent snagging! plus it just does help so much,

Once done they only other thing to remember is not to forget to put heatshrink on like i did first time round ha!

    Beautiful

Next up is this front panel connector,

Now as much as i would have liked to i couldn't use the para cord over the thickest cables and as they can interfere with the rest of the PC if stripped i felt that leaving them was a much better idea!

But it still looks pretty good so I'm happy with the result.

Now it is onto the PSU itself, warranty I'm pretty sure is up so....lets pull this baby apart!

muwahahahahaha! muwah haha MUWAHAHAHA! i must say before i go on that you SHOULD NOT try this at home and i take no responsibility myself if you do decide to copy and injure yourself or damage your PSU! (also always make sure you leave the PSU to drain all power otherwise it is a nasty shock trust me!)

    Now...

I shall hopefully get this done in an hour or so. It is a very drawn out process and does take some time to do!

For any who wonder how i remove the pins i actually use staples as they are the right size and work a treat to help ease the pin out!

    Thanks for looking guys

Re: Arc Mini worklog - Project The Arc updated 22/10/14 (finally with progress pictur

One finished PSU! But before i start, should anyone else do this and come across this...

Don't untwist it, after abit of research i found it to be something to do with "noise" so best to be left alone! but without further ado..

Very happy with how it turned out, although i would have liked to have done the other i actually ran out of Para cord so i decided to do it the best i could as that cable will be a hidden cable, i may do it in the future but i am unsure as of yet!

Next up is to go onto the 3d printing hoping the person i have found who is local to me can do it.....

Re: Arc Mini worklog - Project The Arc updated 22/10/14 (finally with progress pictur

So before i start, I'd like to say a special thank you to DDY for pulling out the stops and making me an N7 logo for this build

But now i do have some bad news, progress as become slow due to giving myself concussion, however! i had a CT scan and luckily i do not have a bleed on my brain but instead i've just bruised my head pretty bad, the docs have said the dazes and headache should start to go soon but did say it can take weeks if not months, which sucks! either way it did affect my concentration aswell as my motor skills so i was pretty useless at any delicate work so that is the reason that i have not updated recently! (even affected me playing games o.O that was a bummer!)

But anyhow...i do have a small update for you which starts with this,

I just needed to do some minor sanding and file work to clean it all up and prep it for painting.

So that was a few nights ago, and now tonight i did some more,

Unfortunately my hands are still a little shaky which you can tell from the white sad times! but still I'm going to continue trying to get it done as best i can and at least build up the white. Once done it will be onto dry brushing then a good few clean up strokes with the black and then (when my hands have stopped shaking of course) i shall clean it up fully and clear coat it

Thanks for looking! but don't expect an update any time soon as i wont be doing any detailed work to the case due to my issue's i will try and get the N7 logo close to finished though and update as soon as i have completed it!

Re: Arc Mini worklog - Project The Arc updated 22/10/14 (finally with progress pictur

So, small update! Over this weekend i'm hoping to get some work done on this, i've been super busy with some issues which involved moving home...again, and problems with my shoulder (ongoing and sucks!) which as you can guess caused alot of fallbacks! so,

I got all excited and saw a new case, yep i've already bought a new case to start work on! but that does not mean i have forgotten about this case

So i did some work on it, which involved some heavy cable managment, and a few idea changes, Those change's involve the theme, as my next case is more suited to a mass effect theme this one is going to stay as a carbon theme, so with that!

This weekend i am hoping to get a few pics taken and some updates on the finished product
