    Re: Ebay question

I gave up selling phones on ebay because about 80% of my items were subject to scams or scam attempts like this, never lost any money, it just got very irritating.

A very elaborate prank in a similar situation << worth a read, quite amusing.

SiM - Sadly international laws regarding shipping biological items are very strict. Doubt that'd get through. Would be f***ing deserved though.

Getting offered £210 for a phone worth roughly £100, it sure is.

    Re: Ebay question

pow4 - I wouldn't let it put you off for one sale. As long as you are careful, follow the ebay rules (which are there for a reason), don't accept transactions regarding the phone outside of ebay and most of all don't respond to questions like the one in this thread you will be fine.

Honestly, all the scams I encountered were so easy to spot they might as well have headed their messages with a foot high banner reading 'FRAUD'

OV3RCLOCK3R - Though you might have, it is 5 years old after all, still good in my opinion! And yes, I think' Jeff' did vanish after that. Although hopefully only in terms of internet life and not real life. Because that would just be scary.

    Re: Ebay question

I've had this from computers advertised on Loot, GumTree and Craiglist

They email you from payment@whatever.com pretending to be paypal, but at the bottom of the email it says before you recieve the payment you must reply with a trackign number

Once i emailed them a citylink tracking number from a past order from Aria and they asked for a receipt as they couldn't work it

    It's 4.98*
