Here is a list of the different rewards and privileges for remaining a contributing member of the HEXUS.community. New members should realise that if you blatantly spam you way to reach one of these levels (5 posts for a URL, or 20 posts for Scan2HEXUS are the usual reasons) you can quite easily have your post count dropped to zero or just be refused that particular privilege... of flat out banner for being a spammer.

We do like you to introduce yourself in this forum, but please be aware that posts in this forum do not count towards your post count

Forum Rewards

• 5 - Enables the ability to post URLs
• 15 - Enables "Thank user" option on individual posts
• 15 - User Control Panel access
  
  • Lets you amend your profile, change settings, add your system details, add or change your signature, etc.
  • Enables Personal Messages (PMs). Limit of 70 saved messages.
  • Lets you post on other users Visitor Message boards
• 20 - Scan2HEXUS free shipping - SCAN2HEXUS - Free shipping - Information and Rules and SCAN2HEXUS - Free Shipping setup guide!
• 100 - Enables access to Classifieds - Sell your stuff! - Please read read the rules for this forum before posting
• 100 - Enables access to the Wanted forum. The same rules apply to this forum as the Classified forum.
• 200 - Enables you to change your Custom user title (below your forum name)
• 200 - Enables HEXUS.Gallery on your account (HEXUS.gallery)
• 500 - Enables you to specify a custom Avatar

Account promotions take an hour, so you will need to wait at least that long before you can get access to any of the new features your post count allows. Scan and HEXUS re-sync their databases at midnight, after that has happened you will be able to apply for the offer. See SCAN2HEXUS - Free Shipping setup guide! for more details.

We seem to have started something of a tradition over the past few years. There have been two HEXUS.social meets at Bletchley Park so far and a third is planned for this year, cementing the tradition.

What the user colours mean

Dark Red = Mod or SuperMod
Orange = Admin not employed by HEXUS
Light Blue = Admin employed by HEXUS
Dark Blue/Navy = care@HEXUS
Red = ATi-multimedia.care@HEXUS
Dark ish = Antec.care@HEXUS (I have no idea what this colour is, it's not in the standard pallet)
Green = HEXUS.Social membership

What is Pink Handbag Day?

Basically a day for brolove & charity. It's been a long standing tradition (albeit infrequent & entirely random) that us guys (and girlies) put a pink handbag in our sig & make a charitable donation. The bag pics thing gets quite competitive & kudos goes to the best bag of the day.

Don't forget guys, next time you see a Charity Collection you MUST put 10p in and tell them "it's for Pink Handbag Day" and then mince off

That's about it really for most, but the hardcore PHD'ers like to go that bit further & pose with respective pink handluggage & post pics for public praise & ridicule.

Yeah. That might seem a bit strange, but the restriction on access to the selling bit was, at least in part, to stop people coming on here just to sell. And, of course, to reflect that if you've got to put in a bit of effort, it reduces scamster's motivation to join for that. With the wanted section, it's much less likely to appeal to that type. I had, however, often wondered if it might not make more sense to have the same criteria apply to access for both.

..So everybody knows, the rules, postcount qualifications, etc are all being worked on, the make them as clear as possible, and then they'll end up in one place, probably the FAQ link on the menu bar. It's just taking a while.
