Searching on the internet to find ways of saving energy? Well your only making things worst.

Not sure why Google has been singled out, I guess all search engines use power.

Sometimes they've just got to find something to moan about...
So we just made the numbers up.Google is secretive about its energy consumption and carbon footprint. It also refuses to divulge the locations of its data centres. However, with more than 200m internet searches estimated globally daily, the electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions caused by computers and the internet is provoking concern.
Now heres a picture of a duck billed plattypus.

Oh no, the internet uses power! Turn it off quick!

It was printed in a couple of the papers this morning - the Times more than likely.
I'd like to point out to them that in terms of carbon footprint, the running of the presses and distribution of the paper alone would probably be triple that of running a webserver 24/7. Daft idiots.
Moo.
i must admit i would of expected this to be a Guardian artical, rather than the times. Oh well things change!

It may well have been The Big G, but the only "paper" I generally "read" is the Star - if I want any real news (well some of it anyway) I'm on the internet. Makes you start to think that the physical media forms like newspapers are feeling a bit threatened by The Internet in general rather than entirely embracing it - after all as I said, I'd be fairly sure a website and webserver would be cheaper to run than a single days newspaper printings
Moo.
Anyone got any figures on how much "green house gas" (I hate that term) have been released due to the US and UK invading various countries over the years?
As much as Tony Blair and Gordon Brown are full of hot air, I doubt the military equipment is compatible with it.
So we should all get into our cars and go to the library everytime we need to look something up?
Its amazing how people can overlook the NEEDED details of things like this, in order to create some sort of reasonable conclusion, instead of being forcefully dribbled on.
Partly why I dont care for 50% of the "news" thats fed to us.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Let's all stop using the internet so that the carbon brigade can be kept happy. Might even stop them from getting together and causing more hassle.
