    monitor

Just a quickish question. i got CRT monitor Hansol Mazellan 900P and it been a wicked monitor and it got 1600x1200 res max.

my question is whats the best TFT monitor i could get for 250 quid, i find my CRT Hansol Mazellan 900P is very good on the eyes and doesnt display horrid colours/contrasts like many TFTs i seen.

what TFT 250 quid range monitors would you recommend, personal exsperience would be great.

    p.s Hansol Mazellan 900P rules

With all due respect... I think one of the reasons you may not have received any replies before this one, is possibly because of the many other similar threads on the forums?
Have a look through some other recent 'monitor' threads in this section, and you'll find plenty containing advice/recommendations on monitors which are within your budget

    Re: monitor

If you fancy 24" then get the DGM monitor

(ocuk branded on overclockers, but a few stores have it branded as there own)

if 22" then its a much bigger barrel of fish for that price range

    ones to look at:
    Samsung 2232BW
Samsung 226BW (if you can find an S panel one)
Iiyama E2201W-B1 (if you can find the -B1 rev)

dont personally know anymore than that

    Re: monitor

I ended up getting an ASUS AL2416W because it has a top res' of 1920 x 1200 and cost £206 in January. I came from a Compaq 21" CRT (1600 x 1200 @85HZ) which has a much richer picture: But then again, if you could find a 24" CRT, it would weigh as much as a car.

For office/net type work the 24" is fantastic. In general: Turn the RGB's down about 40%, keep the brightness up full, contrast to about 50/day and 20/night (.........or really, really night, about +8).

Although your initial reaction to TFT might be less than enthusiastic, the memory of the CRT will fade quicker than you think.

NB: The ASUS above is VGA only, that's why it was so cheap. No problems if you only have dual DVI's, there's loads of converters about.
    Every little helps!

    Re: monitor

the reson why i got this threat was so i could show you the monitor i currectly have, and thus can see its specs.

i looked at many TFTs and so far they been a let down, both very bright ie over bright or very bad on the eyes i noticed.

i trying to find a monitor simular to mine, ie good picture contrast and good on eyes, but TFT and higher res. my atm 1600x1200

    Re: monitor

It would appear that quality and price are definitely linked: as usual. As that's the case, I would say look towards one of the Dell range.
