Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R USB Keyboard issue in BIOS

Anyone know if this is still an issue that the Gigabyte P35 board need a PS2 keyboard to navigate the BIOS for the first time.

My board should arrive early next week and I only have USB keyboards, would like to know if I have to get hold of an old keyboard fast.

Yes it may do. there is an option in the bios to set USB support in DOS, so that would have to be enabled, though mine worked periodically with my Abit N73.

If you can get hold of a USB to PS/2 adapter that should work as well

But if you go to a local PC shop they might sell you a cheap PS/2 one for < &#163;5 or check your pound store!

i'm using a ps/2 keyboard, but i have a spare usb keyboard, let me go check to see if it works straight away in bios first time, brb.

ok, i just checked, and by default it is disabled. and in the manual it's stated as that too. my board isn't the exact same as yours but there is little difference, so more then likely you'd need a PS/2 keyboard, or an adapter to go through the BIOS first time?

Thanks for trying that HSK much appreciate, just borrowed an old PS2 one from work.

Will use it to enable USB in BIOS then can use my nice new budget USB one!

No worries, once it's enabled, it works fine.

The only thing that is lost with the use of USB mice/keyboards is the "power on" functions (tapping the mouse button twice or keyboard to power up), which i guess saves you from bending/leaning down if your machine is placed like that, otherwise no bigge
