they've put quite a lot of effort into making that guide, but i can't really see what they get out of it.
overclock your CPU and your PC becomes faster? doesn't everyone already know that?
Hmm not bad but it will be more interesting to see it on the lower power systems when they do them.

Its not that big if the frame rates before are 120 and after overclocking is 138, would you be even able to notice the difference? Then again if you've bought an i7 it would be silly not to overclock it. I think the point of that guide is to show that you don't need a very fast cpu for playing games, however I would like to see lower resolutions tested and other processors such as the phenom II thrown into the mix.

Agreed, it's pretty much a waste of time testing a CPU at a res that high as it will always be GPU limited. If they wanted to prove a point that in real-world situations it wouldn't matter what CPU is used, they could have done it easily enough by just including two frequencies in the review: 2Ghz and 4GHz.2560x1600 8xaa/16xaf? Would be nicer if they did a lower res as at higher res', the CPU is hardly doing any work compared to the GPU.
Good point, maybe this is something for hexus to do a review on?

Very interesting, especially the higher clocked results often out classing the higher clocked i7. Suggests there's a bottleneck building up in the i7 that AMD have managed to work around.
Most Core 2 Duos at 3GHz will be enough as well. Very few games (mostly console ports) take advantage of quad core.
